Star Wars

We have been watching Star Wars in the evenings lately.  After her morning bath, Katie got ready for movie night tonight in one of Chris's favorite onsies.  There are some curls we've seen when her hair is wet and a few lingered today.

Chris's favorite quote, "...and the journey to the dark side will be complete."

It was cute to listen to her makes noises in response to Chewy's noises. :)

Even though she has had a cough today she is still smiling.

Talking Katie

I was studying in my office while Chris and Katie were watching TV together when I heard Katie start "talking" up a storm.  Here's a little sampling of the conversation.

Playtime with Katie.  She has come to love the music and lights of this toy.  I have a great 3 minute video of her on here but it wouldn't load.  She sits and plays in here while I make dinner.  This little clip was the end of her playing.
We took a weekend trip to Atlanta for the baptism of Declan Lalonde Korhonen, Katie's cousin.  Here's Katie and Deck chilling out in the Korhonen living room.

Playtime!

Katie and I have started having "conversations."  She is pretty good at listening and responding.
Katie's first pair of sunglasses and she didn't fight them at all.

Jana and Deck at the church on Sunday morning.

Katie and I received lots of nice compliments on our matching outfits.  :)  I can't believe how many people start a conversation with us because of Katie and her smiles.

The happy family.

Random pictures around the house.

Katie enjoying the nap nanny.

Dad figured out a spot for Katie on the couch.

Dad and Katie watching TV the morning mom went to work for the morning.
Dad made an even better couch cushion for Katie.  This is great for family movie night.

Happy Katie in clothes from the Healy family from VT6.

Laundry day.

Heading out to the VT 2 picnic to welcome the new "HOS" (Husband of the Skipper) to the wives club.  I don't think we'll be having a handbag exchange this year for a monthly meeting this year.

Mommy's favorite picture of Katie recently.

What a little cutie in more clothes from the Healys.  The nice part of this outfit was the 3 tops that match the pants.  Each time Katie spit up we could just change her shirt instead of the whole outfit.

Happy Katie and happy daddy.  :)

Mother's Day

Sunday morning at the Ewings!  Mommy is getting ready to leave while daddy is...sleeping?

For Mother's Day we decided to go to the zoo. Here we are talking to Grandma Tibben on her way back from Selby, SD.  Happy Mother's Day Grandma Tibben!

Katie loves the Bjorn as long as she gets to look out at everything around her.  :)  She is so content when I put her in it.  We did some gardening in it together on Friday, went to a picnic in it on Saturday, and finally the zoo on Sunday.

Katie is checking out the animals.  I think we were standing by the water buffalo.

One of the first stops was the goats.  Since she can only see 3-4 feet and the goats seemed friendly I decided to get a little closer.

And this goat got a little closer too...

Oh, he got her hand.  Good thing there was a hand washing station nearby.

This giraffe had his eye on us for quite a while.

Looks like her head has some growing to do.

UWF Graduation

Graduation Day!  The Master in Public Health Degree is complete.  A big thank you to the Navy for funding my education once again.  A big thank you to Katie for sleeping through the night for the first time the night before graduation!  Thanks for Chris for putting up with me spending lots of time in front of my computer getting a degree online.

Getting hooded!  The commencement speaker P.J. O'Rourke kept our attention in giving his advice.  I enjoyed his quote, "Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys."

Wonder woman!  Daddy picked out this onsie!  We went to the Apple Market with her this day and we got stopped by a lady who loved the outfit.  :)

This reminds me of a pair of pajamas that Aunt Jana had growing up.
